Mesh arrived on the Second Life scene August 2011. Since that time, we have seen a wide variety of designers begin to use mesh as a design element. We see mesh used in clothing, hair, homes, décor and are excited to see what else the use of mesh holds in store. However, several months into the emergence of mesh, there are many SL residents who have not yet begun to use or see the value in mesh items.
The idea for Mesh Around 2012 was born from this. Mesh Around 2012 is a grid wide hunt that will launch June 1st 2012 at 12pm (Noon) SLT and run through June 15th 2012. This hunt is geared towards creators and designers who are using mesh in their products. We hope to reach a group of consumers who remain hesitant with using mesh items and, of course, those who already love mesh. We ask that participants bear in mind that too often items for males are limited in events such as these and consider creating both a male and female item, or a unisex item. Undoubtedly, doing so will help increase both traffic as well as product awareness.
